Mandibular Hypo-hyperdontia: a Rare Case Report and Its Management
نویسندگان
چکیده
Dental anomalies of tooth number influencing the development of permanent dentition are quite common, and more numeorus than in the case of primary dentition, however, combined occurrence of hypodontia and hyperdontia is a rare phenomenon, especially in the same dental arch. The purpose of the present report is to describe a case of concomitant hypo-hyperdontia (CHH) in an 8 year-old male with missing mandibular central incisor and an erupted mandibular mesiodens, and its minimally invasive management. This is a unique case of CHH in the mandible in the dental literature, the two anomalies being manifested in the anterior region of the mandible. Furthermore, this is the only case report describing the evidence of taurodontism in association with mandibular CHH.

Non-syndromic hypo-hyperdontia—A rare case report and review of literature
Abnormalities of tooth number in development of the dentition are quite common; however, concomitant hypo-hyperdontia is a rare mixed numeric anomalous condition, especially when it occurs in the same dental arch and in a non-syndromic situation. The presence of this condition specifically in the mandibular anterior region is reported very infrequently. This case report presents the case of a 9...

Agenesis of bilateral maxillary canines is very rare and mesiodens is a commonly occurring supernumerary tooth type. Concomitant occurrence of both hypodontia and hyperdontia is extremely rare and it is a condition of mixed numeric variation in the same individual. The reported prevalence of this condition ranges between 0.002% and 3.1%. The purpose of this case report is to describe a rare occ...
متن کاملMandibular midline supernumerary tooth associated with agenesis of permanent central incisors: a diagnostic conundrum.
Concomitant hypo-hyperdontia is a rare mixed numeric anomalous condition. The presence of this condition in the same area of dental arch and specifically in the mandibular anterior region is reported very infrequently. This case report presents a case of 20 years old male with congenitally missing permanent mandibular central incisors in conjunction with a mandibular midline supernumerary tooth...
متن کاملA Clinical Report of Nonsyndromic Concomitant Hypo-Hyperdontia
Although hypodontia and supernumerary teeth are often considered as mutually exclusive conditions, this case report presents an unusual case of hypodontia and a supernumerary tooth occurring simultaneously. An adolescent male was referred to the local hospital department regarding upper arch crowding. Plain film radiographs confirmed the congenital absence of both lower lateral incisors in addi...
متن کاملNon-syndromic occurrence of true generalized microdontia with mandibular mesiodens - a rare case
Abnormalities in size of teeth and number of teeth are occasionally recorded in clinical cases. True generalized microdontia is rare case in which all the teeth are smaller than normal. Mesiodens is commonly located in maxilary central incisor region and uncommon in the mandible. In the present case a 12 year-old boy was healthy; normal in appearance and the medical history was noncontributory....
